cant help about the mobile carrier, but the ammusing thing that happened here
was some brain decided to amounce the fireworks by turning off the electricity
to the city area at 12:57.......

you can imagine the chaos in the Y2K testing people

Well, it is 2000 here... and my MG tests out fine.  Took her for a burn
around the streets and no Y2K bug with her :-)

PS BTW my mobile phone carrier died at midnight and still isn't back up,
I gather they just re-booted things to be safe, but it was the only Y2K
stuff that I witnessed.  Now who wants to buy a few thousand cans of
SPAM and a gas stove?
