Pull one of the spark plug wires, put a phillips screw driver that has the tip 
about the same size as your spark plug tip in it, stand in a puddle with bare 
feet and have someone turn the starter over.  You will know real quick if you 
have spark.  (Alternatively you could use gloves to hold on to the insulated 
screw driver end and place it close to a ground and see if there is a spark 
rather than feeling for it.  Make sure you are not leaning against the car and 
are wearing rubber soled shoes.)

If you have spark, make sure your wires are all on the right plugs, if they are 
not, fix them.  (watch out for a distributor that is our 180 degrees, my DPO 
did that and when I put the wires on the right plugs it ran for crap.)
