Generally, you always bleed from the farthest wheel back to the closest wheel
to the MC. If your car has a dual master cylinder and a pressure warning
switch like my '77 Midget, the proper procedure is different so the pressure
switch remains centered. The full procedure is in the Haynes and Bentley
manuals for the Midget. (Sorry, I don't remember what car you have.)
In the Midget (LH drive), the left rear actually is the farthest (longest
brake line) from the MC, not the right rear, because of the connection of the
flex hose.
You can bled from the farthest wheel back to the closest and this will remove
all the air in the system without introducing any more...and then recenter
the pressure switch. To center the pressure switch, finish bleeding all the
brakes, then, with the ignition switch turned on (motor not running) and the
handbrake off, the brake warning light may be lit. Bleed the right front
caliper just until the light goes out. If the light doesn't go out in one
press of the pedal whilst bleeding, try it with the left front...just until
the light goes out. (If the light doesn't go out, you have another problem.)
