Gee, Max,  I'll bet it was before they started installing radios with digital
tuning that need a constant source of power.  My 77B has one.  Looking at Moss'
catalog I see that a lighter (142-270) is listed as being optional for the 
'62-'67
dashboard and standard for the '68-'71, '72-'76 and '77-'80.
