G'day Scotty

VSR is "valve seat recession". It is not a good or happy thing. VSR
additive is used to mitigate/eliminate VSR.

G'day All,
our local motoring organisation has just informed us in
South Australia that leaded fuel will be phased out by January 1st, 2002.
LRP [lead replacement petrol] will be available soon from some petrol
stations.
However, here's the bit they didn't elaborate on.
Quote---It's feasible that when the number of pre '86 vehicles falls to a
level where it's no longer viable for oil companies to dedicate bowsers on
service stations to LRP owners of these cars will have to empty a bottle of
VSR additive into their tank when they fill up with Premium unleaded petrol.

The mystery is 'what is VSR ?'
Inquiring minds need to know.

Scotty,
Adelaide, Australia.
