I picked up a pertronix ignition from Jeff Zorn of the Little British
Car Co at Carlisle a couple of weeks ago and just got around to
installing it in the 71B last Wednesday. On the first startup, the idle
speed was 500 RPM higher than before. On Friday, Martha Jo and I
attended the Vintage Virginia event (our MG club was invited to add a
little class to the event) and drove somewhat more than 150 miles in all
traffic conditions - from stop and go to freeway. The car handled all
with aplomb and seemed to have more pep at all speeds - never have to
downshift going up hill - and didn't have any of those annoying hiccups
we used to have from time to time. Also, the slight key off runon has
stopped. The installation was simple - easier than changing breaker
points and we're very pleased FWIW. Thanks, Jeff.
