Why the heck bother? In my experience MGs are seemingly immune to
"jockboxers", and they'd be impossible to unload to a fence if stolen. If
you're worried about your stereo, you should have installed a pull-out.
It would be a lot cheaper to just install a blinking LED, if you really
want the deterrence factor. And to discourage joyriders, just install a
battery cutoff switch, or more subtly, a fuel pump power switch. IMHO...
