All those will work whichever way the battery is connected, although unless
the radio worked in the fullest sense of the word as well you may have
cooked it.  Just realised that in the UK at least, the battery posts are
different sizes so there shouldn't be any doubt - unless the PO has been
really sneaky and only done half the job ...
