When I first put my ZB Magnette on the road, I had
to rebuild the combined master brake/clutch cylinder
because the clutch was leaking internally. (car would start
to creep if you held the clutch down, very dangerous
when manoevering the car around the shop!)

So I put a new rubber kit in the car, and it worked
fine when installed. I haven't used the car in a month
or so, but now it's slipping again.

Talking to the previous owner, he had rebuilt the
master cylinder not long before I got the car and
never even got the car licensed. So the car has
done about 100 miles on three clutch master
rebuilds. Obviously, something is wrong.

When rebuilding it the bore feels smooth and
perfect, but I only gave it a quick feel around
because at the time I didn't realize I was
rebuilding a cylinder that was just rebuilt,
I assumed I was pulling out decades-old rubber
and it'd be fine.

Is there a failure mode I don't know about? Or
is there a way I can see if my bore needs resleeving
or something? I guess that is the next step but
it didn't seem to show any problems.
