Thats very odd, I'm 6ft 3 too and have a 74 (GT tho) and there is bags of
legroom (I presume you are talking about legroom when you mentioned moving
the seat back). But then again, my car is RHD - but this shouldn't affect
legroom.
Sometimes when people put the seats back in, they relocate the rails in the
incorrect position (very easy to do) and you lose a lot of adjustment.
Something to check I guess.
