  They so seldom get snow or ice on the roads in the desert that they
don't put salts on the roads, as a rule.  Car washes aren't even
enclosed.  We get a lot more rain in Kerrville, but it snows less here
than in the desert around El Paso.  Kerrpatch is lower (1700') than El
Paso (3900') and further south, so it gets colder in EP.  It snows there
roughly 2 times a year, usually overnight, but if the sun comes out it
melts away in a day or two. High desert gets a lot colder at night than
low desert, say around Phoenix.

  It got into the 60's and partly cloudy yesterday.  Great weather for a
top-down ride.  It got to 29 last night and is clear and 65 now, noon. 
Spring is coming!
