1) Question: Does it blow air, but doesn't pick up the media?

1) Damp media

2) Plugged bypass hole  (This hole admits atmospheric air to mix
with the media).

3) Plugged pickup hole.

4) Check the media hose. A hole worn in the pickup hose due to
media wear.  I've had this happen where the media pickup hose
bends.
