Just disconnect the wire from the sender, you can then measure the
resistance of the sender at whatever engine speed you like.  Didin't someone
just post a graph?  Thought I had put it somewhere safe.  As I recall it was
much the same as the fuel sender - 250 ohms or so when at minimum, 25 or so
when at max (readings).
