Dan,

On my 72, there are two separate flasher units. One works for the emergency
lights (all four) and the other works on the "stem" for the left and right
turn blinkers only. Perhaps your problem is with that unit. I have noticed
however that when one of my signal lights burn out or my blinkers need the
grounding worked on a bit, only one side will work, many times leaving the
other side on (when not burnt out) but not blinking. I believe that is
caused by it's drawing too much amperage for the blinker unit to work. A
clean up of the grounds usually fixes it up quickly. The ground that
causes the problems is many times not the socket but the ground between the
fender and the light unit itself.

Hope this helps. I don't mind giving hand signals, but I don't think
younger drivers know what they mean anymore.

A quick question, my Bentley is at my car stored at my sisters for the
winter.
Last evening I replaced the 2 fuses in the fuse block, I pulled the coil
wire, checked everything (the Bay leaves trick Valerie told me about worked
'great' this winter !) crank it a bit-got oil pressure, replaced the coil
wire then it fired right up after 3 short cranks at full choke, it idled
right out in short order and the oil pressure was up around 60 psi. My
flasher makes all the blinkers (2 front+2 rear) work fine, and the red
flasher on the dash flashes, BUT when I use the left stem to operate the
blinkers-NO go ! and my brake lamps don't light.

any suggestions ?
should I start at the fuse block ? one of the bottom fuse holder tabs seemed
a bit flimsy.
