It isn't too bad, or at least not much worse. The worst part is the new seal
that you will be installing from frame to body, they are very stiff and make
the work hard. I know it is early but the best way to get it in is to have a
second person pushing down on the front of the frame (no twisting) while you
try to get the bolts in. Put the two bottom bolts in first and then have your
helper push the frame into position. Also make sure there is a good cone on
the ends of the bolts by grinding a taper into the ends, roughly 45deg to a
point, then chase the threads. This will help the bolts start. There are many
coned bolts all over our cars so look around if that description isn't clear.
During removal, loosen the bolts from center tensioner to cowl as much as
possible and then pull the screen frame mounting bolts. Don't be surprised if
you can't get them all of the way out at first, once you can lift the screen
frame some you will be able to get the bolts all of the way out. I don't know
how much of a resto this is but a new peice of glass will make a big difference
to looks and to nighttime visibility, and now is as good a time as any. best of
