Some months ago Mr MGOC himself - Roche Bentley - went into print in
Enjoying MG saying that if you wedged the filler cap in the handle it would
lock it on (locking triggers are illegal in the UK).  He was roundly
condemned on safety grounds of course, but came back with the weak defence
that if the nozzle fell on the ground the filler cap would 'probably' be
dislodged shutting off the supply.  Since locking triggers are illegal here
I could imagine that it is also illegal to come up with some other method of
locking them on.
