I see Lawie just answered your question concerning
the manifold. His reply came through just before I
was about to reply.

I'll add to Lawie's comments and in doing so, perhaps
save you some 'machining'.

My exhaust flange didn't match my intake flange thickness.
(for the 2" Peco performance header I currently have
installed in my '73 BGT daily driver)  I simply made myself
a few small 'L' shaped spacers.  I 'hooked' the small leg
of the L on top the thinner flange with the long leg hanging
down behind the manifold 'washer' that spans the manifolds
to hold them on.
I simply cut my 'L's out of some scrap aluminum I had laying
here, and simply stacked a few to fill the thickness difference
between the two manifold flanges.  They've worked just
fine for 6 years now.
