For track work we MUST have this arrangement. They are always wary
about throttles being stuck in the ON/OPEN position.
I have had one fall off but never had one break. I ALWAYS carry a spare
(hooked up under the bonnet) because there would be nothing worse than
being sent home for such a little thing spotted by the scrutineers - and
they DO spot such things.
