When I bought my B the clutch was inoperable. The insides of the slave
cylinder had turned to mush. I had to swap it out before I could even go for a
test drive! So I put a new slave in the car in the PO's driveway. Then my
friend helped me bleed it. I don't seem to remember it taking too terribly
long
(20 mins?) with the front of the car raised up a bit on a hydraulic jack. I
still have a master cylinder that leaks on my foot when I drive, but the clutch
is still operating OK since that initial fix. Someday, I'll ll fix that
master...

I know everyone says you should also replace the master too. But I am
hoping that I just have a bad hose. Went to take the care out this
weekend and almost put my foot thru the firewall. Crawled under the car
and sure enough...fluid all over the mat.
