Yesterday Greenpeace invaded the Land Rover plant here in Solihull. The
chained themselves to several of the biggest Range Rovers and brought all
production to a halt for several hours. They put 'Climate Criminal' tape
around the display of vehicles at the factory gate, and hoisted their own
'Climate Criminal' flag over the plant in place of the usual flag.
Snuck in at the dead of night? No, they were wearing orange boiler suits
with 'GREENPEACE' writ large on the back and just walked in at a shift
change along with everyone else. So much for security. A number of years
ago it took factory managers some months to realise that members of a gang
were walking in off the street and driving off in completed cars without
being challenged, little seems to have changed.
