It should be round, as should the clevis pin and hole in the release arm.
But unlike at the pedal end wear at the slave end is compensated for - up to
a point - by the hydraulics.  Unless things have worn so much at the clutch
end that the pedal is pushing the slave piston out of the cylinder you will
gain nothing by removing the wear.  At the pedal end the push-rod and pedal
holes and slotting of the clevis pin all contribute towards a low biting
point - about an inch lower in my case.
