As the group will remember, my 71 was doing the exact same thing.
Timing and Carb adjustment did it.
I did and changed everything that you have listed - all to no avail.
To make matters worse, the car started easy and, except for high end,
ran well.
Checked and adjusted the timing, tuned the carbs and the temp gauge
went and has stayed in the normal range.
Set your points, adjust your timing and tune your carbs and see if that
helps.
