I actually used a different type of E-clip purchased at my local  hardware 
store. I could not get the original circlip (actually, new  ones) in the slot 
for the life of me. The cylinder that I replaced also  had some slight movement 
but it seemed more solid once I hooked  everything back up. No problems to date 
after several hundred miles.
