Hmmm - I can't believe the door/ignition key and the boot/glovebox key
for my car were EVER the same - the door/ignition key is quite a lot
bigger. The PO bought a new lock set (he only installed the ignition,
I've still got to get around to the others), which had one key for the
door/ignition and another for the boot, a totally different size. The
boot key fits into the slot on the glovebox, but, being the wrong key,
won't actually turn it of course.

If I can get a key that is the right one to fit the glovebox it should
fit the boot too, with any luck, which will
A) mean I've only got two keys not three
B) save me from having to fit the new boot lock

I've removed the barrel from the glovebox lock, it's only got the 931
number, no prefix. My BMIHT certificate lists two key codes, the 931
number and another one (longer, with a prefix, IIRC).

Maybe earlier cars had smaller locks on the door and ignition, so the
smaller boot/glovebox key size was right for them too?
