Thanks to those  that  replied. I'll probably just take it to a reliable
radiator  shop and let them do  their magic. Paul pointed out something that
is worth repeating. On all of three of the MG's I've owned, in the hot
summer sitting in traffic the temp gauge has travelled towards hot, and in
the  67 it sometimes registered over 230 degrees. None of them, however,
ever boiled any coolant out, i.e. as Paul says they are not truly
"overheating". I remember someone on this list saying to quit watching the
temp gauge and enjoy the driving:-)
