I am on a couple of bulletin boards for my cars. One of them is sponsored by
a parts distributor. But the only time I know it is when one of the
moderators ( a master mechanic for the marque) is discussing a particular part
that needs to replaced/described. He then pulls up a catalog picture of that
part. I find it very useful. But the bulletin board is never used for direct
sales, I have used the distributor for parts as a way of saying thanks. This
is very similiar to what Kevin does, and it as it should be.
