I echo Andy's comments. A tech session on some of the more routine
maintenance items would be great. That's more within my capabilities.

Greg, Count me in for your gearbox rebuilding session, although it's pretty
unlikely I will ever undertake such an endeavor. Still, it's good to know
what's going on even if one doesn't do the work himself (or herself).

Greg, I think that tech sessions are great and a wonderful way to get people
together. You can count me in; I've rebuilt a couple of MG gearboxes myself
and have a couple of spare ones that I practice on.

Another good tech session would be a tune up on a car. Replace/adjust the
points, rotor, condenser. Check the plug wires. Set the static timing and
then the dynamic timing. Adjust the carbs, etc.

Hi All,

Sounds like we all enjoyed ourselves last Sunday. Now would be a great
time for another member to put together our next great drive - anyone
want to give some thought to routes and destinations over the next few
months?

I'm willing to put on another tech session, and am currently working on
an Alfa Romeo gearbox and have another Lotus/Ford gearbox that I'll be
stripping open to inspect and rebuild. We had several members show up
for my first gearbox tech session - are there any members who would like
a refresher, or new members who would like to attend? Though these
aren't MG, Triumph or Jag 'boxes, the principles are similar, and I know
many of us may have worked on motors but not gearboxes, so perhaps you
will find this of interest. As an added kick, if someone would like to
present some useful technical information/training on another aspect
during the same day, we could present these concurrently to appeal to a
wider cross-section of members. Robin - feel like doing some rolling
troubleshooting?

This would be held at our house in Santa Rosa, using our garage and
driveway (sorry - we don't have a country estate like John Kenner) and
we could combine it with a BBQ lunch if that sounds good. I'm thinking
of sometime in April, and will firm up a date when/if I hear of enough
interest.

Cheers,
