Usually the lights are on the opposite side from the ground lug, so you'd
have to be a real contortionist to see the lights for a plug with the ground
lug on top.  Maybe those little yellow testers are being made "upside down"
now, too...  

Interesting discussion.  I'd silently wondered why I've seen some outlets
this way recently.

Re: "little yellow plastic polarity testers" : Huh ?  Even the ones from HF 
are color coded.  If you don't get two yellows and no red, something's 
wrong.
