It's called a "double start" or twin start thread. they are used where
speed of assembly is more important than the absolute strenght of the
clamping action. An industrial supply place may bew a betteer bet.
Incidently, I've got a C clamp that's threaded like this, and it's really
handy for things where you really want a third hand. I've no idea where it
came from, though.
