I've been using a plastic 5 GL gas "can" for 5-6 years now. I bought it about 10-12 years ago and used it for holding gas before changing it over. I notice no deterioration at all. I have marked "Waste Oil Only" in permanent marker on all 4 sides so I don't confuse anyone (mostly me!)
