    Another of the many problems with bolts.  If the threads on the bolt 
are damaged, the ones in the hub probably are too.  OTOH, replacing a stud 
is a 2 minute job on any car well-enough designed to have a gap in the 
back for the stud to exit.  Turn the hub to line up with the gap, whack 
with hammer, watch old stud skitter across garage floor, pull in new stud, 
done.  It took days for the mechanic who broke-off a lug bolt in the hub 
of my Alfa to fix that mess.
