If you do wind up replacing a start capacitor bear in mind
that it might still be holding enough electricity to give you
a bit of a surprise. Many years ago when I worked in A/C and
refridgeration we'd pull the connectors with insulated pliers
and then short across the connectors with a screwdriver before
handling the cap, just in case.
