I have no experience with it personally, but it is my understanding that 
Freeze 12 is colder than R-134a IN A R-12 SYSTEM. It does not require a 
license to buy, at least here in Texas. I have no idea what is required 
to convert from R-134a back to Freeze 12. I suspect the oil would need 
to be changed and the system cleaned out.
