There was a (longish) saying in the UK franchised auto industry along these
lines:
"If you've got someone who's smart, put him in the showroom. If he's average
put him on Service Reception. If he's stupid put him in the Parts Dept. If
he's really thick, suggest he goes to work for the Parts Factor down the
road."
Most times, I've found the thickest, dummest, most unaware individuals
happily exist in showrooms - totally unaware of the product they are
selling, bulls*****ing their way around with customers and paid far more
than they are worth. Seems this guy would be better off in a showroom
