I've been planning to work on my car all winter, but the darn weather has
been too nice here in Texas. I finally decided to do something anyway. I
just took out the wood dash and I plan to re-veneer it and clean up all of
the guages.
Questions:
1. I don't like the dark Walnut. What do you think of a lighter burled
Maple or a richer color like Cherry?
2. I took the bezel off of my guages and the seal is old and cracked.
Should I go to the effort of finding new seals or should I just use
silicone? In looking at the VB catalog, it shows a seal on one side of the
glass but it doesn't show anything on the other side of the glass. Mine
has an o-ring behind the glass and the seal that is between the glass and
the bezel looks like it was more of a sealant than a gasket.
Thanks in advance,
Ray
