The "little lady" amazingly, is OK with the idea. Go figure. I guess she's
decided that it, too is my car :) I win! Besides, there's no way I'll get 2
days. I'll be lucky to clean up and paint the replacement front right hood
support bar/hinge assembly and install it in the next 2 weeks. And that is
just a couple hours' work!
Done outdoors, masking & spraying should take an afternoon. I can do the
door jambs, under the hood, etc later.
Probably camo on the underside of the hood, gloss black for the rest of the
engine compartment as I clean it up... I can do that piecemeal.

a camo Spitfire yet?

You might want to!
-Seriously, why not just do a quick "regular" paint job? Get out the
power sander, sand that baby down, tape it up, a couple of coats of
primer/surfacer, wet sand and shoot color. Two full days if you're not
*that* concerned about it looking perfect... Think about it! I'm sure
that there are a bunch of listers (myself included) who could offer info
and support.
