I'm thinking about upgrading my Lucas contact-points
vacuum-advance style distributer for increased
performance and reliability.
I read over my Vicky Brit catalog (page 21) and saw
what I consider to be three options:
1. Crane Cams Electronic Ignition conversion
2. Mallory dual point distributer with mechanical only
advance
3. Mallory dual point distributer with Vacuum advance
I was wondering if any of you have experience with
these? Recommendations? Warnings?
I'm always cost conscientious but my main consideration
is RELIABILITY and performance. I see the Crane system
is $129.95 for my car and the Mallory DP Distributer
with vacuum advance is $249.95 ... that is significant
by my pocketbook. Also, do I need to worry about
accessories with these options... for example: do I
need the Mallory chrome coil if I buy the Mallory
distributer?
