Jeff (and all),
The autocross is a solo speed event that tests not only the car's handling and
performance, but also the driver's skills. It consists
of a set of rubber pylons set up in a parking lot in the form of a course. The
object is to drive as fast as you can around the
course. Usually, you get three runs and your best time is used for comparison
with others in your class.

Time is added for hitting pylons and course deviations. Best time wins the
class. Usually the SCCA has novice classes for those who
have never done it before.

If you don't want to use your Spitfire in such events, I suggest that you never
enter your first one. I am convinced you will be
hooked! The VTR autocross was the first one I have competed in since 1969 and
it was the best fun I have had in the last 30 years.

Regards,
Joe
