Mike:
You've got to take out all the window seals for
starters as the headliner was glued around the
openings.
Never thought about trying to soften glue. prep-sol,
MEK, acetone? I think acetone is what is used to
re-activate pli-o-bond contact cement.
There are asbestos insulation pads above the
headliner, hold your breath.
Start removing the 3 bows from the rear. The front bow
is held in place by two sheet metal clips that snap
over the top of it. The clips are welded to the roof
above the windshield frame.
Good luck. It's good cloth, but 30 years old.
