I'm not a metallurgist, just a mechanic with about 30 years experience. I've
worked with heat, metal and welding long enough to know how to treat things
and what limitations I am working with. I forget that others may not know
their limitations.
I'm not too concerned in this case as I'm doing auto-x and not road racing.
The 5-point is there to keep my butt firmly planted in the seat and not to
save me in the event of an accident.
