I looked into this before, but never got around to doing anything about it.
http://www.towingbrackets.com/ sell a towbar for the MkIV/1500 Spitfire made
by Watling, but I cannot make any comment either way as to whether they are
any good or not. #95.00 ($135 right now) gets you a towbar plus single
electrics. They also sell towbars for GT6 Mks I, II and III - why a MkI or
II GT6 tow-bar wouldn't fit a round-tail Spitfire I'm not sure.
