I don't know if this is the same outside of the "Rust Belt" but when I sold
car parts (Up until last spring) I was told that trailer hitch companies
made a point of not making hitches for anything over either 10 or 15 years
old - The reason is, they cannot guarantee the structural integrity of the
frame that their hitch is being attached to. This isn't a problem where a
lot of you are, but up here a 10-year-old vehicle has usually been through
its first gas tank and complete set of brake and fuel lines ... The rest of
the underbody being in similar shape! So, I don't think that any of the
major companies will make one for classics - Probably a specialist thing,
though I have no idea who would specialise!
