Well,,..
just checked the engine. The oil Marvel Mystery
oil I left in the cyls overnight is gone in #3.
1 2 and 4 still have almost the full amount I put
in late last night.

So... I assume I need rings and or a piston to replace #3

QUESTION...
What are the odds it's just rings and I can get away with
only replacing the rings in #3? The cyl walls look OK.
nice and shiny with no scoring visible.
They appear to still be the orig pistons (no overbore
only 37K orig miles on the odometer)

Do I chance it and just replace the rings? .... replace the
pistons and rings? (1...all 4 as a set) If so should I go
ahead and drop in a set of 9:1 flat top pistons?

anyone BTDT...either/any of these routes?

Subject: better head gasket and source

OK...asking for the collective list wisdom....

I'm looking for the better quality in head gaskets
for a Spitfire 1500 engine.
Who/what/where delivers a decent quality head gasket?

VB now carries ARP head stud sets... are they worth
the money (~$80 vs stock at half that)
