Possibly until they run out of them :-)

BTW,  I would almost rather have the knob switch burn out than
the 1-2 lockout switch on the transmission (they are connected
in series).

The switch on the transmission is cheaper and easier to obtain,
but replacing it involves tearing the car apart to reach it...
