With the performance cam I have in my 1275 (lopes pretty good) - the clutch
takes it down from 1200RPM to 800RPM. If the idle is set to 800RPM it will
die when the clutch is depressed for a significant length of time. My
problem seems to be purely a function of the radical cam since extensive
work with the carbs and timing has given no improvement. On the other hand,
it runs extremely strong from 3000 up - so I guess I can live with the wacky
idle as long as I don't do a lot of in-town driving. Also, mileage is 40+
mpg on the road, but well-under 20 in town. Any others out there with
similar experiences?
