Indeed, so does my car (a '67)!  Horler's book "Original S&M" :)  makes it
sound like this wasn't done until Jan 1969, when VIN tags on the dash
became mandatory.  Of course, maybe this wasn't done on "home market"
cars.
This little-known fact should help numerous people who are missing the
screwed on plates or think their cars have been "modified" in this
respect.
