Was just looking through my parts bin(junk pile) and came across an old
dirty carb set up. It is an SU with 1.25 throats. Everything looked familiar
but the back float bowl had two pipes coming out of it. One is to feed the
fuel ,and the other is-----------????? Was this a part of a fuel vent
system for emmisions on later cars? Also there is a good sized brass pipe
going into the throat just in front of the butterfly. Both carbs have this
and I suppose it is a vacume source, ---but for what? Bob C in KS
