Hi guys and gals.

I've been lurking on the list since the end of last summer when I
banged up my '76 Midget. (Only two days left before I stored it for
the winter......it's a tragic tale, really.)

Anyway, I've replaced the left door skin and prepared the lower
wing for fitting a small repair section and am thinking forward to
the painting process. (I won't even start on how proud of myself I
am for venturing boldly into bodywork!)

I have come to the conclusion that the entire car is going to be
painted. By me. The existing paint is in tremendous overall
condition with the exception of its faded condition and I am
considering whether to strip the entire car to bare metal and
start from scratch (pun intended) or paint over the existing coat.

I have found some very helpful information about prepping, priming
and painting from bare metal, but very little on "painting over."

Keeping in mind that I am an absolute beginner in painting (but I'm
brave, really brave) I welcome any comments, suggestions, advice or
directions to other information sources that will help me come to a
decision.

Of course, I'd love to hear from anybody who has painted their own
spridget.

Thanks in advance.

Chris
