DIY Carpet + DPO

It seems to me that the scary part would be that hump on the
driveshaft tunnel where the shift lever comes out...

This leads into my DPO story.  When I got my sprite, there was this
crappy plastic console over the transmission tunnel from the dash back
to behind the seats.  When I removed the piece of ****, I found that
the nice carpet in the car didn't cover the area under the console -->
thus my interest in DIY carpet, or at least patching a piece in.
