I have an A+ motor. I had to cut off a thin plate at the rear of the sump,
use a sprite front engine plate and harmonic damper-pulley and that was it.
I used a sprite crank and Cooper S rods instead of the A+ (Marina)
crank/rods since it was for a race motor. A friend (Russell Cox) has
used the marina crank/rods in his hot road motor with no problems.
Since it is stiffer than the standard block, it can take larger bores and/or
rpm with less losses due to block flex.
The disadvantage is the oil filter setup is not the same as a sprite
block.
Yes there were A mini blocks, they were used in the turbo metro. The inline
A+ was used on the later Marinas in the UK.
